Tempted to Discount Your Lash Prices When You Re-open? Think again!

Discounting your lash prices might seem like the 'logical' path to take once COVID lockdown lifts, but here are some factors to consider first.
First up, remember that adjusting prices is an individual decision, and there are no hard and fast rules. Consider which options would work best for your business first.
And, don't forget—most of your clients will be praising the lash gods, knowing they can book in for their lash appointment. It's quite possible they'll bolt into your salon and almost throw their Visa card at you on arrival—just so they can FINALLY attain their desired lash look after months of iso. If they're your regulars, they'll be delighted to support your business.
My top four ideas on how to support your clients without compromising your business:
Idea 1: Instead of discounting the price of the full set of lashes, perhaps offer a package deal? Full set and brows for free? Or bonus lash tint?
Idea 2: You might even offer a slightly cheaper packaged price for their full set, and the first 2 or 3 refills if paid upfront on the same day. This option is one way of giving your business significant cash flow injection upon re-opening.
Idea 3: For some clients, the issue may be time—not money. When ISO regulations loosen, laying down for a few hours for a fresh set of lashes might be a stretch. Think of other value options for these clients. Perhaps time=poor clients could book in for a 60-minute session, once a week until they've built up their lashes to their usual fullness.
Idea 4: Create a "Waitlist" (I made a form on my salon website). A lash, brow or beauty waitlist is the perfect way to identify what services your clients want and gauge how busy you'll be in the first few weeks of re-opening. You'll receive insight into what therapist is needed, and you can determine the availabilities quickly. Based on the data provided via the form, you can easily create a "mock" schedule for the first couple of weeks.
Overall, things seem to be improving, and the easing of restrictions looks promising. The truth is, we could all be back to "normal" in a matter of weeks, so be proactive and prepared for when it's time to get your lashes on'.
Fingers crossed it's real soon!
